On-Site Water Screening
Preliminary investigation and screening of wash water focusing on operations, water quality and decision-making basis.
Decision basis before investment and regulatory dialogue – not a replacement for official environmental analysis.
Purpose of Water Screening
Our on-site water screening gives you a quick overview of water quality in your facility – so you can make informed decisions about operations and potential investments.
- Assess wash water quality
- Identify problem areas (COD, oil/grease, particles, hardness)
- Evaluate water recycling potential
- Point to specific technical measures
- Clarify need for subsequent regulatory analyses
Operations & Recommendations Report
You receive a report with measurement results and specific recommendations. The report is used for:
- Internal optimization of operations
- Water treatment project planning
- Clarification of which regulatory tests are relevant
- Basis for investment decisions
What We Measure
With UV254 technology you get results in under 90 seconds – without reagents.
BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand)
The part of pollution that bacteria can break down
COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
Total amount of organic pollution in the water
pH Value
Acidity level – important for chemical efficiency
Conductivity
Indicator of dissolved salts and minerals
Hardness
Calcium and magnesium content
Oil & Grease
Indication of contamination level
What are COD and BOD – and why are they important?
COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
COD shows the total amount of organic pollution in the water – both what can be broken down biologically, and what is more difficult to decompose.
A high COD level typically means: high load on water treatment systems, increased chemical consumption, and greater risk of operational problems and odors.
BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand)
BOD shows the part of pollution that bacteria can break down.
BOD indicates: how "easy" the water is to treat biologically, whether biological processes make sense, and how hard the water loads subsequent treatment steps.
Together COD and BOD tell you:
- • How polluted the water actually is
- • Whether the water is suitable for recycling
- • What type of water treatment makes most sense
- • Whether the load is stable or fluctuating over time
Official Documentation
If documentation is needed for authorities, this is done subsequently through accredited sampling and analysis. We help you clarify which analyses are relevant for your facility.
